General Purpose is either Brown/White, Grey/White or Grey/Pink grit mixture for use on all steels. White, Pink and Lavender grits are for use on hardened and tool steels. Use White in cases where burning is an issue. Ceramic (SG) grit is for use primarily on hardened steels where long life and aggressive cutting are required (not recommended for use on tool steels).
